My name is Chris Wilbanks. I'm 15 years old and I love motorcycles. I first started my interest in motorcycles in July of 2003. I was posting in a newsgroup about how I wanted a motorcycle. It ended up I got a piece of junk 1979 Kawasaki kz650. Even though it was free, it was way too big and heavy. While waiting on the kz to arrive I got an email from a nice lady in Texas. She told me she had a friend in California who knew someone here in Norman. I got the email address and everything from her and decided to email this guy. Turns out it was Mike Jones of Team Smoke. He came out on his very nice 2002 Suzuki sv650s and introduced himself. A few days later, He let me come over to ride my first bike ever. His Honda trail 90. I thought it was going to be very hard. I was also afraid I was going to crash. He showed me all the proper procedures. He then let me take over. At first it was kinda weird, but I got use to it. I learned to ride my first bike ever. It was an automatic. I didn't even wreck! After learning to ride an automatic, I got to thinking. Most new bikes are manual. I don’t even know how to work a clutch! Well I contacted Mike Jones again and he told me his friend Luther had a nice xr80 I could learn on. He came and picked me up and took me to the shop. I got on the xr80 all ready to ride thinking I have no clue what imp doing! I killed it about 8 times, But then again I got use to it. I didn’t even wreck! Now imp going to patiently wait so that I can buy myself a new bike. I owe a big thanks to Mike Jones. If it weren't for him none of this would have been possible. I might have even lost interest in motorcycles had I not been able to ride one. Thanks!!!
